You’re Jake, A box stacker at HAULR Co., where surviving your coworkers is tougher than the job. The story centers on a husband in significant financial debt who is struggling to keep his household afloat. To escape the crushing pressure of his creditors, he resorts to a bizarre and desperate measure: living inside a cardboard box within his own home. While “hiding” in the box, he becomes a passive observer of his own life. The narrative focuses on the shifting dynamic between his wife and an outside individual (often a debt collector or a predatory neighbor) who takes advantage of the husband’s literal and figurative confinement.
